73's BILLET PROGRAM

The Kemptville 73's are pleased to have a billet program that can be described as "best of class" within the CJHL.

Our Billet Coordinator has called upon the community to seek out quality families to open their homes to support our team and to provide homes-away-from-home for our billeted players.

Our billet program is a valued asset of our organization. Considerable effort has been undertaken to consider and interview prospective billet families and visit their homes. We will also take considerable care in identifying only a select few players who demonstrate the on and off-ice qualities deserving of one of our billeted player spots.

The successful placement of billeted players requires the matching, as best we can, the player's personal needs with the characteristics of the billet home. This diligence is necessary so that we can make the best assessment of the player's likelihood of continuing with the team throughout the season, and the compatibility of the billeted player with the billet family that we have identified to be best suited for the player.

Our assessment of a player as a billet candidate does not amount to a "no trade" clause. Rather, it provides the assurance to the billet family, the player and his family and the team that we have done a greater assessment of the player. If a billeted player is subsequently traded, the team will take extraordinary care to inform both the billet family and the player's family and will determine what billet arrangements are in place by the receiving team for the traded player.

Would Your Family Like to Become a Billet Family?

If your family would like to be considered for the 73's Billet Program we would encourage to do the following:

1.     A quick self-assessment:

  • Can you provide a smoke-free home from September 1 until the end of the hockey season (March - April)
  • Can you provide a private bedroom with study area?
  • Can you provide a healthy diet consisting of three meals per day and healthy snacks?
  • Can you provide the occasional transportation to or from the arena?

2.     Contact Kendall Dolliver at (613) 355- 1638 or at  billet@kemptville73s.com  to arrange a meeting.

If your family is selected as a billet family and a player  is placed in your home, the team will provide you with a monthly billet fee to offset a portion of your home expenses and pay for food and toiletries for the player.

Thank you for considering the 73's Billet Program.
