Carleton Place - The 73's won their biggest game of the season... right in their arch-rival's own barn.
The 73's got timely scoring from Nick Duhn who netted his second hat-trick of the season... including the overtime winner. Michael Rowbotham continues his ascent up the league's scoring leaderboard with three assists.
The team achieved a distinguishable "first" in franchise history this evening by achieving a respectable .500 winning percentage.
The win gives your 73's a 7-point lead on Carleton Place (with three games in hand) and the team's .800 winning percentage over the past five games has the team focusing in on the struggling Cumberland Grads for the seventh spot in the standing. Cumberland is six points ahead but the 73's have two games in hand and play the Grads twice over the next month.
The 73's magic number is now "5"... any combination of 73's wins or CP losses, totalling five, will secure the 73's first Jr. A play-off appearance.
Next home game is this coming Tuesday, when the 73's take on the Jr. Sens. 7:30 pm start time... come out and cheer your team on.
