Cameron McLean Named CCM POTW

CCHL – Press Release

Ottawa, Ontario – The Central Canada Hockey League is proud to announce that Kemptville 73’s ’99 born Defenceman Cameron McLean has been named the Week Four CCM Player of the Week.

Mclean, 19, scored two goals, one assist, and scored the overtime winner against the Nepean Raiders on Friday night. The Brockville, Ontario, native currently leads all defencemen in goals with five and tied for second in points with eight.

“Cam is a dynamic defenceman with great offensive instincts,” said 73’s Head Coach Jeff Jordan.

“He moves the puck very well, he has a very heavy shot, and he is also a great teammate in the room.”

The uncommitted D-man is in his first season in the CCHL after playing in the CCHL2 with Brockville, Prescott and Athens from 2015-18. McLean also won the CCHL2 Defenceman of the Year last year, scoring 22 goals and 62 points in 50 games.

Our CCM Player of the Week Honorable Mentions go out to Hawkesbury Hawks forward Patrick Callahan and Carleton Place Canadians forward David Gagnon.

Callahan, 18, tallied three goals in two games for the Hawks last week. The Skaneateles, NY, native has six goals in his first nine games.

Gagnon, 18, scored two goals, including an overtime winner against the Kemptville 73’s on Sunday. The Halifax, NS, native has six points in nine games this season.
