Coaching Announcement, Jason York to Take over Behind the Bench

We are pleased to announce that Jason York has been named the Head Coach of the 73’s for the 2019-20 season.  Jason was an Assistant Coach for the last two seasons and worked closely with last season’s Head Coach, Scott Dexter, who will be stepping down this season due to a work commitment.  We would like to sincerely thank Scott for his time, effort and devotion to the team and the 73’s Program.

Jason is very well known in the Ottawa area, having played his youth hockey in Nepean.  Jason also played a season in the CCHL with the Smiths Falls Bears before moving on to play 4 seasons in the OHL, which included an appearance in the Memorial Cup, followed by a professional hockey career spanning over 16 seasons, 5 of those with the Ottawa Senators.  Jason played 759 games in the NHL.

The 73’s have also added Wes Cory to our Junior A coaching staff.  Wes has been with our HEO Midget AAA team the last 2 seasons.
