Late goal helps the 73's defeat the Voyageurs 2-1

Jeff Taylor scored the game winning goal late in the game as the Kemptville 73's defeat the the Kingston Voyageurs 2-1 in a home game at North Grenville Municipal Centre in Kemptville. In addition, the Kemptville 73's' offense had a big night, peppering Kingston with 46 shots throughout the game.

During the first period, Awada opened the scoring for the 73’s with a goal at 1:37 with helpers from his linemates, Dick and Holtrop. Twofoot answered for the Voyageurs with a goal at 8:28 with an assist from his teammate Harris.

In the third, Taylor answered for the 73’s with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 19:31 with helpers from York and Dennison.

Kemptville’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Bond as he stopped 16 of the 17 shots he faced. Bond’s counterpart, Pledge-Dickson, also had a big night, managing to stop 18 of 19, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Kemptville 73’s’ record to (4-1-0-0).
