The 73’s crushed the Hawks 5-2

Cooper Lukenda came up big, stopping 47 of 49 shots throughout the game. The Kemptville 73’s took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Cole Dennison.

Cole Dennison did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Ashton Fry “a” contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Chris Smith had a busy night with 2 goals.

During the first period, Fry “a” opened the scoring for Kemptville with a goal at 0:12 with helpers from teammates Hunter “c” and Meyer. Titus quickly followed with a goal at 1:56 with assists from Domitrovic and Bondy. Smith quickly followed with a goal at 2:55 with helpers from his linemates, Anderson and Beaudin-Tougas.

During the second, Dennison answered for Kemptville with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 11:02 with assists from Beaton and Fraser. Thousand scored a goal at 16:27 with helpers from Fry “a” and Hunter “c”. Daskas quickly followed with a goal at 17:41 with assists from Dennison and Fraser.

In the third period, Smith answered for Hawkesbury with a goal at 8:41 with helpers from Elia and Jankowski.

Kemptville’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Lukenda’s big night as he stopped 47 of the 49 shots he faced. Lukenda’s counterpart, Petizian, also had a big night, managing to stop 24 of 29, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Kemptville 73’s’ record to (18-40-2-2).
