The 73’s defeat the Nationals 4-3

The Kemptville 73’s’ offense had a big night, peppering the Rockland Nationals with 39 shots throughout the game. The Kemptville 73’s took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Jacob Thousand.

Jacob Thousand chipped in with 2 goals.

In the first, Thousand opened the scoring for the 73’s with a goal at 11:11 with a helper from Meyer.

In the second period, Shields ‘c’answered for Rockland with a goal at 8:31. Dick quickly followed with a goal at 9:29 with an assist from defenseman Mclean. Boyer answered for the Nationals with a goal at 12:15 with helpers from teammates Pruneau and Sullivan. Kiefer answered for the 73’s with a goal at 16:54 with assists from Samson and Domitrovic.

In the third period, Collins answered for Rockland with a goal at 8:59 with helpers from his linemates, Vermaeten and Chabot. Thousand answered for the 73’s with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:28 with assists from his linemates, Fry and Beaton.

Kemptville’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Bond’s big night as he stopped 26 of the 29 shots he faced. Bond’s counterpart, Giacobbo, also had a big night, managing to stop 35 of 39, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Kemptville 73’s’ record to (1-0-0-0).
