The 73’s fall to the Hawks 5-3

The 73’s opened their season at home at the North Grenville Municipal Centre tonight after going 3-0-0 at the ShowCase last weekend. The evening started with an introduction of the 2018-2019 roster followed by a moment of silence for the Humboldt Broncos of the SJHL.

In the first period, Lavallee opened the scoring for Hawkesbury with a goal at 11:14 with helpers from his teammates Elia and Guillemette. Marleau netted a goal at 13:41 with an assist from fellow Hawks forward Duchesne.

During the second, Fizet deposited a goal at 1:39 with helpers from Anderson and Lavallee. Fry finally put the 73’s on the board with a goal at 6:01 with assists from Thousand and Wood. Beaton netted a goal at 10:34 with a helper from his linemate Samson. Williams scored a goal at 14:01 with assists from Frazee and Kiefer.

During the third, Fournier answered for the Hawks with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 13:05 with a helper from Grainger. Marleau put in a goal at 18:21 with assists from Lavallee and Mcgrath.

This loss brings the Kemptville 73’s’ record to (3-1-0-0).
