Kemptville Edges Pembroke 5-4 in Thrilling Match
Kemptville claimed a hard-fought 5-4 victory over Pembroke, powered by strong offensive performances from McDougall and Graves
The game opened with Kemptville striking first as O’Doherty scored at 6:41, assisted by Graves and Voisey. Rutley added another at 13:15, giving Kemptville a 2-0 lead. Pembroke responded late in the first period with a goal from Bowes at 19:48.
In the second period, Pembroke came out strong, equalizing early through Bowes’ second goal at 5:03. Alegria then gave Pembroke the lead at 13:04, but Kemptville answered quickly. Graves tied the game just 22 seconds later at 13:26, and Montoni regained the lead for Kemptville at 13:59. Pembroke quickly equalized again with Kahriman’s goal at 14:06, leaving the score tied 4-4 after two periods.
The third period saw Kemptville take the lead for good, as Bennett netted a short-handed goal at 9:42, assisted by McDougall and McDonald. Pembroke pressed for an equalizer but couldn’t break through Kemptville’s defense.
Goaltender Donovan was solid for Kemptville, stopping 24 of 28 shots, while Kamp made 29 saves for Pembroke. Despite Pembroke’s push, Kemptville held on for the 5-4 win.
Kemptville outshot Pembroke 34-28, with neither team converting on the power play.

Kemptville falls 4-0 to Rockland
The Kemptville 73’s put in a strong effort but were unable to break through Rockland Nationals’ defense, ultimately falling 4-0.
Rockland struck early in the game, with Tremblay ‘A’ scoring the first goal just 2:19 into the period. Kemptville struggled to generate offense, only managing 3 shots on goal compared to Rockland’s 12. Despite the deficit, Kemptville’s defense held strong for the remainder of the period, preventing further goals. No penalties were called.
Kemptville looked to bounce back, but Rockland’s McDougall extended the lead to 2-0 at 16:37, assisted by Turnbull. Kemptville earned a power-play opportunity when Rockland’s Hall was called for slashing at 18:32 but couldn’t capitalize on it. Despite being outshot again, Kemptville goalie Bennett made several key saves to keep his team in the game.
Kemptville came out strong with a surge of offense, putting up 10 shots in the final period, but Rockland’s goaltender Forget stood tall, making all 18 saves on the night. Rockland, however, continued to build their lead, with goals by Landriault at 4:10 and Hall at 7:17. Kemptville had multiple power-play chances in the third, including a stretch where Rockland took four penalties, but the 73’s were unable to convert.
Despite the loss, Kemptville showed flashes of strong play, especially in the third period, where they applied heavy pressure on the Rockland defense. However, Rockland’s efficient offense and solid goaltending by Forget proved to be the difference.
Kemptville will look to regroup and come back Friday night at home against Nepean.
