Cornwall 4, Kemptville 3 (SO)
Cornwall emerged victorious over Kemptville in a hard-fought game, defeating them 4-3 in a shootout after a 3-3 draw in regulation. The game started with a strong push from Cornwall, who opened the scoring early in the first period. Lamoureux netted a goal at 2:37 with assists from Speck-Meek and Gilmour. Kemptville found themselves on the penalty kill twice during the first period—Trottier for tripping and a too many men penalty served by McDougall—but Cornwall couldn’t capitalize on those opportunities, leaving the score 1-0 at the end of the first.

The second period saw more back-and-forth action. Cornwall extended their lead early in the period with a power-play goal from Bowen at 4:03, assisted by Lamb and Miron. Kemptville responded with a power-play goal of their own at 10:01, as Stubbings closed the gap with a goal set up by Beaulieu and Bennett. The period also saw a series of penalties, including a major penalty and game misconduct for Kemptville’s Loreto for boarding, which gave Cornwall an additional man advantage, but both teams struggled to break the deadlock, and the game remained tied 1-1 going into the third period.

In the third period, Cornwall extended the lead with a shorthanded goal from Miron at 10:21, assisted by Bowen and Gilmour, making it 3-1. However, Kemptville fought back with two quick goals from Beaulieu, assisted by Redmond, at 13:52 and Dylan McDougall at 16:24, assisted by Canevari and Stubbings. Cornwall responded with a late push, including a couple of penalties from Chabot, but Kemptville held firm to finish regulation with a 3-3 tie.

The game went into overtime, but neither team could find the back of the net. In the shootout, Kemptville’s Beaulieu, Bennett, Trottier, and Stubbings all failed to score, while Cornwall’s Bowen, Lamb, Gilmour, and Fraser stepped up, with Fraser netting the only goal in the shootout to give Cornwall the win. Despite outshooting Kemptville 29-25, Cornwall was unable to convert on their power plays, going 1-for-3, while Kemptville went 1-for-4. Kemptville’s goalie Donovan had a solid game, stopping 21 of 24 shots, while Cornwall’s Chabot was just as sharp, making 26 saves on 29 shots.

Kemptville 4, Cornwall 0
Kemptville secured a dominant 4-0 win over Cornwall, with a strong offensive performance and a shutout from goalie Donovan. The game started with Kemptville taking control, scoring two quick goals in the first period. Beaulieu opened the scoring at 8:03, assisted by McDonald and Bennett, followed by Trottier’s goal at 10:43, set up by Shewfelt and McDougall. Cornwall struggled to generate offense and had difficulty converting on power plays, including one late in the period after a tripping penalty to Gilmour.

The second period saw Kemptville extend their lead with Montoni’s goal at 9:47, assisted by Graves and Beaulieu, making it 3-0. Despite a number of penalties, including high-sticking calls and goalie interference on Kemptville’s McDougall, Cornwall couldn’t capitalize on the power plays, and Kemptville’s defense held strong. The teams exchanged penalties, but the score remained unchanged, with Kemptville in control heading into the third.

In the third period, Kemptville sealed the victory with another goal from Trottier at 17:24, assisted by McDougall and Sweetapple, making it 4-0. Cornwall’s frustrations continued as they struggled to break down Kemptville’s defense, and Kemptville’s Donovan remained perfect in net, stopping all 36 shots he faced. The game saw a flurry of penalties, including roughing and unsportsmanlike conduct calls, but neither team could convert on their power plays.

Kemptville outshot Cornwall 29-36, with Cornwall’s Chabot making 25 saves on 29 shots in the loss. Despite numerous chances, Cornwall couldn’t get past Donovan, who posted a perfect shutout performance. Both teams went 0-for-3 on the power play, and Kemptville’s all-around strong performance, particularly on defense and in goal, led them to a commanding 4-0 win.
