The second period was a penalty-filled affair, but neither team could find the back of the net. Both sides had multiple opportunities but struggled to convert. The period saw some intense physical play, with several players from both teams getting involved in roughing and face mask penalties, but the score remained unchanged at 3-1 heading into the final frame.

In the third period, Kemptville made a push, pulling within one goal at 13:43 when Loreto scored, assisted by Graves and McDougall, making it 3-2. However, Nepean regained their two-goal advantage at 16:37 on a power-play goal by Williamson, assisted by Taylor and Smith, bringing the score to 4-2. With just under two minutes remaining, Benoit sealed the victory for Nepean with an empty-net goal at 18:51, assisted by Houben and Campbell, making it 5-2. Despite a late surge by Kemptville, including several power-play opportunities, Nepean held on for the win. Nepean’s Brant finished the game with 32 saves on 34 shots, while Kemptville’s goaltenders, Donovan and Jones, combined for 21 saves on 26 shots. Nepean’s strong penalty kill and timely scoring were key factors in their victory.

Brockville 2, Kemptville 1

Brockville edged Kemptville 2-1 in a tightly contested game. The game saw its first goal at 17:19 of the opening frame when Lumsden scored for Brockville, assisted by McNally. Despite Kemptville’s efforts, including a few power play opportunities, they were unable to respond, and Brockville led 1-0 after the first period.

In the second period, Kemptville came out strong and evened the score early, with Trottier scoring his 12th of the season just 30 seconds in, assisted by McDougall and Sweetapple. However, Brockville regained the lead at 5:27 with a goal from Biniaris, assisted by Dinis and McNally, making it 2-1. Despite several penalties on both sides—Kemptville’s Canevari and Montoni, and Brockville’s Paluszak—neither team could capitalize on the power play, and the score remained 2-1 in favor of Brockville. Kemptville struggled to find an equalizer, with Brockville’s Gerlich turning away 19 of the 20 shots sent his way.

The third period saw no scoring, but Kemptville pressed hard, outshooting Brockville 7-6. Kemptville’s Jones was outstanding in net, making 41 saves on 43 shots, keeping his team in the game despite being heavily outshot throughout the match. Kemptville had a couple of power play chances in the third period but could not break through, as Brockville’s penalty kill, led by Gerlich’s goaltending, proved effective. Despite Kemptville’s late push, Brockville held on for the 2-1 win. Kemptville finished 0-for-3 on the power play, while Brockville went 0-for-6, but their strong first period and solid defensive play in the latter stages were enough to secure the win.
