Kemptville 5, Hawkesbury 3
Kemptville secured a 5-3 victory over Hawkesbury in a well-balanced game, with a strong third period proving pivotal. After a scoreless first, Hawkesbury took the lead early in the second with a goal from Charbonneau, but Kemptville quickly responded with Montoni and Trottier finding the back of the net, including a power-play marker. Hawkesbury’s Skoczylas added a second goal to tie the game, but Kemptville regained the lead with Shaw’s goal and McDougall’s insurance marker midway through the third. Redmond sealed the win with an empty-net goal late in the period. Despite a strong performance from Hawkesbury’s Ruddy, who stopped 33 of 37 shots, Kemptville’s Donovan made 25 saves and benefited from a productive power-play unit that went 1-for-6. The game also featured several penalties, with Kemptville’s depth and timely scoring ultimately proving too much for Hawkesbury.
