Kemptville defeated Renfrew 3-2 in a hard-fought contest, with key contributions coming from their special teams and timely scoring. However, Pembroke sealed the win with a late goal from Alegria, his second of the night, to make it 4-2. Kemptville outshot Pembroke 28-26 but struggled to capitalize on their opportunities, while Pembroke’s penalty kill and Modelski’s solid 26-save performance in net kept Kemptville at bay. Despite a strong push in the third, Kemptville couldn’t find the equalizer, and Pembroke’s defense held firm for the victory.
Kemptville 5, Navan 6 (SO)
Kemptville held off a late rally from Navan to secure a 6-5 victory in a thrilling contest that went into overtime. Kemptville came out strong, with Shaw scoring early and Fehr adding another goal, giving them a 2-1 lead after the first period. The second period saw Kemptville extend their lead with Graves’ goal, but Navan responded with two goals from Johnson and Holmes, tying the game at 4-4 heading into the third. Kemptville regained the lead early in the third with Bennett’s goal, but Johnson answered again for Navan, completing his hat trick and tying the game at 5-5. The game went to overtime, but neither team could score in the extra period, and the game moved to a shootout. Kemptville triumphed in the shootout with Sweetapple scoring the decisive goal after 21 rounds, securing the win after a dramatic back-and-forth. Kemptville outshot Navan 33-27, with Bennett making 22 saves on 27 shots. Navan’s Gagne stopped 27 of 32 shots, but it wasn’t enough to earn the win.
