Kemptville Falls to Cornwall in OT

The game was a back-and-forth battle, with Kemptville securing a point in a hard-fought overtime loss against Cornwall.

Cornwall opened the scoring early at 1:29 when Beliveau netted his second goal of the season, assisted by Goyette and Ouellette. Kemptville responded on the power play at 14:27, as MacIntyre scored, with Loreto and O’Doherty assisting. Cornwall regained the lead when Fraser scored his seventh of the season at 17:10, set up by Miron and Bowen. However, Kemptville struck back just before the period ended, with Stubbings scoring in his first game at 19:31, assisted by Trottier and McDougall, tying the game 2-2.

Cornwall briefly took the lead again in the second period at 5:30 when Miron scored his fifth of the season, assisted by Ouellette and Lamb (AP). Kemptville responded quickly, with Montoni scoring at 6:46, assisted by Canevari and Redmond, tying the game 3-3.

Both teams tightened up defensively for the third, and no goals were scored. However, Kemptville took a penalty when Sweetapple was called for tripping at 7:13.

In a dramatic overtime period, Cornwall’s Goyette scored just 1:46 in, assisted by Ouellette and Bowen, securing a 4-3 victory. Despite the strong effort by Kemptville, Cornwall clinched the victory.

Kemptville Triumphs in Tight Match Against Smiths Falls

In an exciting matchup, Kemptville came out on top with a 3-2 victory over Smiths Falls, despite being outshot 40-22.

Smiths Falls struck first at 11:54 when Cardillo scored, assisted by Heron and Childerhose. Kemptville responded just a few minutes later at 15:30, as Loreto tied the game with a goal from O’Doherty and Dumont. Both teams faced penalties, but neither could capitalize with the man advantage.

Kemptville took the lead in the second period when Trottier scored his fifth of the season at 7:39, with assists from Canevari and Montoni. Smiths Falls tied the game 2-2 at 14:19 on a power play goal by Parker, assisted by Ouellette and Booth. Kemptville’s penalties started to mount, but they managed to weather the storm.

Kemptville regained the lead for good at 8:49 of the third, as MacCoubrey scored his first of the season, with Canevari and Redmond picking up assists. Trenten Bennett’s outstanding performance with 38 saves helped secure the victory, as Kemptville held off Smiths Falls’ late surge.

Despite being outshot and facing four Smiths Falls power plays, Kemptville’s defense and goaltending stood strong to earn the win.
