Kemptville delivered an impressive performance, outshooting and outlasting Brockville in a thrilling game that was ultimately decided by a shootout.
First Period: Both teams displayed disciplined defense, resulting in a scoreless opening period with no penalties. Kemptville controlled the pace, generating chances and keeping Brockville’s defense on alert.
Kemptville struck first in the second as Gilmour opened the scoring at 6:20 with his first goal, assisted by Shaw and McDougall. Although Brockville equalized midway through the period with a goal from Verspeeten, Kemptville regained the lead when Gilmour scored his second goal at 15:39, this time set up by Graves and Shaw. Kemptville’s steady pressure and offensive depth shone through, giving them a 2-1 lead heading into the third.
Kemptville continued their strong play as Canevari added to the lead at 4:26 with a goal assisted by Loreto and Stubbings, putting them up 3-1. Although Brockville responded with two goals, including a power-play goal from Arango, to tie the game at 3-3, Kemptville kept pushing, firing a remarkable 17 shots in the final period.
The game remained tied after a scoreless overtime, leading to a shootout. In the shootout, Hopley and Stubbings scored for Kemptville, while Donovan made crucial saves to seal the win, securing a well-deserved victory.
Kemptville dominated with 50 shots on goal compared to Brockville’s 27, and goalie Donovan made 24 saves, providing a solid last line of defense.

Kemptville 1, Rockland 5
Both teams fought hard in a tight defensive battle, with neither side finding the back of the net through the first two periods. Kemptville’s defense and goaltender Donovan were strong, turning away multiple Rockland attempts and keeping the game scoreless. Kemptville also earned three power-play opportunities, demonstrating solid puck control, though Rockland’s defense held firm.
Rockland came out fast, scoring four quick goals early in the third period to establish a significant lead. However, Kemptville continued to battle, refusing to back down. Their persistence paid off when Gilmour finally broke through at 13:51, assisted by Sweetapple and Beaulieu, putting Kemptville on the board and rewarding their offensive efforts. Rockland added one more goal in the final minute.
Goalie Donovan made an impressive 33 saves on 38 shots, keeping Kemptville competitive despite Rockland’s offensive surge. Gilmour’s goal in the third period was a testament to Kemptville’s persistence and refusal to go down quietly, giving fans a moment to cheer and showing the team’s resilience.
